Keynote on future of UAVs at Commercial UAV Expo

Dyan Gibbens, CEO and Founder of Trumbull Unmanned, will deliver the keynote ‘UAVs: A Vision for Global Asset Owners’ at Commercial UAV Expo on 6 October 2015 in Las Vegas. Several of the world’s largest oil companies contract with Trumbull to map, monitor and inspect critical infrastructure and perform environmental remediation.

In her Keynote, she will share her vision for how UAS technologies will adapt to meet the growing needs of large enterprise asset owners. “Opportunities abound as UAS sensor technology and data analytics converge to support the evolving energy sector,” according to Ms. Gibbens, a Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Distinguished Lecturer. Commercial UAV Expo will take place 5 - 7 October 2015 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

UAV presentations

Ms. Gibbens’ keynote is one of several presentations on UAVs for the process and power, utility and energy sectors taking place at Commercial UAV Expo. “UAVs are being explored as the next critical technology for many industrial segments,” said Lisa Murray, Commercial UAV Expo Director. “Our goal is to deliver education and information that address large enterprise needs and to showcase the largest exhibit floor of UAV solutions available in the market. The energy sector is adopting the technology for myriad uses, from geologic modeling and hyperspectral imaging to pipeline monitoring and flare stack inspection.”

Other sessions will explore:

  • UAVs For Pipeline Integrity: 'An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure'. Presenter: David Wood, Pipeline Control Superintendent – Pacific Gas & Electric.
  • The Power of Robots in the Electric Utility Industry. Presenter: Linda Rhodes, Project Manager – Commonwealth Edison.
  • BP: On the Use of Robotics in Operations. Presenter: Dave Truch, Technology Director, Digital Innovation Organisation – BP.
  • Panel Discussion: UAVs Applied for Process and Power.

In addition to breakout sessions, the Conference Programme features plenary sessions from industry experts sharing key insights into the issues facing large enterprise asset owners implementing UAS, including systems selection and integration; developing enterprise workflows, guidelines and policies; data management and integration; and legal, safety and regulatory considerations.

Registration is available online. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance to avoid lines onsite.
