Puma Energy backs PNG Pukpuk 7’s team

Puma Energy, the globally integrated midstream and downstream energy company, has announced its backing of the World Seven Series qualifiers - the PNG Pukpuk Sevens Men’s team.

As Papua New Guinea’s major fuel supplier, Puma Energy are delighted to be supporting the PNG Pukpuk Sevens who are competing in the World Seven Series taking place in Wellington and Hong Kong this year.

Acting General Manager for Puma Energy PNG, Hulala Tokome said Puma Energy is pleased to support a winning team who are competitive on the global stage. It is Pukpuk’s re-entry into the Hong Kong Sevens after an absence of close to a decade.

“Puma Energy recognises the efforts, the determination and skilled sportsmanship instilled in these players. Our financial funding will go a long way in assisting the team, the PNG Rugby Football Union’s ‘Get Into Rugby’ Programme roll out, as well as the PNGRFU’s wider 2015 vision” Mr Tokome said.

“We are supportive of important events that portray camaraderie and unity on the fields, bringing people and businesses together.”

The sponsorship launch event was attended by guests from the PNG Rugby Football Union.

"Today’s event is being held at our Kone service station, which was our first retail site to be Puma branded. This is part of our programme to bring better infrastructure, facilities and improved service standards to all our sites in Papua New Guinea” he said.

The team left for New Zealand early this week.
