At a time of declining oil prices and operational cost continuing to rise, the industry needs to find new ways to shape its own future. In the continuous push towards deeper waters and more hostile environments, increased cost efficiency is the only way to make operations in these areas profitable.
Thermoplastic Composite Pipe qualified with Shell
Following the successful completion of an extensive qualification programme, Airborne Oil & Gas has qualified its Thermoplastic Composite Pipe as a technically accepted linepipe material with Shell.
The testing conducted, and documentation provided, has proven compliance of a TCP Flowline in accordance with Shell’s Design and Engineering Practice (DEP) 184.108.40.206-Gen for Flexible Composite Pipe Systems, including the use in offshore flowline and deepwater well service applications, and hydrocarbon service.

The TCP Flowline reduces total cost of installation and lifecycle cost. Manufactured and supplied in long lengths of 3000 m per spool, the flowlines are installed quickly at reduced CAPEX. The absence of corrosion reduces running cost significantly, leading to a reduction of OPEX and a total lifecycle cost benefit.
Composite downline and jumpers for acid stimulation contract
The company has also been awarded contract for the supply of a composite downline, jumpers and deployment system for acid stimulation.
A West African operator selected AOG's Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) technology as the preferred solution for injecting large volumes of stimulation fluids offshore in deepwater offshore West Africa. AOG will supply a 1450 m long, 3 in. ID, 5000 psi working pressure TCP Downline and TCP Jumpers, the latter connecting the downline to the injection skid and subsea wellhead. In addition, AOG will supply the complete deployment spread, including reeler, tensioner and all pipe ancillaries such as end fittings, bend restrictors etcetera. AOG will perform all related engineering including global dynamical analysis of the downline system.
The TCP Downline and TCP Jumpers provide the high flow rates required for effectively stimulating reservoirs. Acid stimulation is a key element in the EOR strategy of most operators; where the flowrate is a prerequisite, the good fatigue performance, light weight and easy maintenance ensures a good business case compared to alternatives such as steel coiled tubing.
