Santander UK has provided a senior debt facility to support the financial close of Brockwell Energy's Inchbean farm battery energy storage system (BESS) project in East Ayrshire.
The consented 60 MW/120 MWh battery storage facility, located at Inchbean farm near Kilmarnock, will play an important role in supporting the UK's transition to a cleaner and more resilient electricity system.
Once operational, the project is expected to provide critical balancing services to the grid, helping to support renewable energy integration, strengthen energy security, and improve the stability and efficiency of the electricity network.

The project forms part of Brockwell Energy's growing portfolio of flexible energy infrastructure projects. Following an extensive site selection and feasibility process, the site was identified based on environmental considerations, local electricity network capacity, existing infrastructure access, and landscape characteristics.
