TC Energy has selected Worley to support the next phase of development for the Ontario pumped storage project, an important milestone as the project continues to advance through the planning and development phase.
Worley will lead a team that includes infrastructure leaders EllisDon and AECOM to advance detailed engineering, project design, cost estimates, execution planning, and overall project readiness activities.
Together, these organisations bring extensive Canadian engineering, construction management, and project delivery expertise supported by a significant presence across Ontario and Canada. Their selection reflects the strength of Canadian talent and capability in delivering nation-building energy infrastructure.
Project development will advance through TC Energy's Hire and Buy Local Program, helping ensure communities closest to the project have meaningful opportunities to participate in the economic benefits it creates. Worley, EllisDon, and AECOM will prioritise local and Indigenous employment, suppliers, services, and businesses wherever practical. These commitments are embedded into project requirements and performance is tracked and reported throughout project execution. By connecting local talent and businesses to project opportunities, TC Energy and its contractors are helping support skilled trades and professional services in Ontario, support Indigenous and community participation, and build more resilient Canadian supply chains.
The Ontario pumped storage project has the potential to become one of the province's largest energy storage projects, helping strengthen grid reliability and support Ontario's growing electricity needs while creating significant economic development opportunities and connecting communities to the energy they rely on. The selection of the Worley-led team demonstrates continued momentum as project development activities progress and reinforces TC Energy's commitment to advancing the project responsibly while delivering value for Ontario workers, businesses, and communities.
