Ardian Clean Energy Evergreen Fund expands Nordics portfolio

Ardian, a global private investment firm, through its wholly-owned local platform, Enordic Evergreen, has acquired a 73.2 MW portfolio of wind farm projects located in Sweden and Finland from an investment vehicle managed by German asset manager, KGAL.

The investment by Ardian’s Clean Energy Evergreen Fund (ACEEF) comprises three fully operational projects. It adds to Ardian’s strong portfolio of renewable energy investments in the region, bringing the total capacity of ACEEF’s Enordic Evergreen platform to 350 MW.

All three assets are furnished with tier-one turbines and benefit from strong market fundamentals. Two projects are located in the South of Sweden, SE3, one of the most attractive pricing zones in the Nordics, while the remaining capacity located in Finland provides a robust power price outlook driven by the growing penetration of data centres.

The investment reinforces Ardian’s commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure, following other recent investments including a 62 MW wind farm in Sweden acquired from ERG earlier in 2026.

Ardian will leverage OPTA, its proprietary data analytics platform which supports the optimisation of renewables assets, to enhance operational performance and accelerate the next phase of value creation. The projects will also benefit from wider expertise, cost, and operational synergies within the wider Enordic Evergreen platform.

ACEEF is Ardian Infrastructure’s first open-ended clean energy fund: launched in early 2022 with €1 billion capital and 1 GW portfolio, its size has grown to finance further acquisitions allowing the portfolio to increase by around 60%, today reaching 1.6 GW operating across 5 platforms. The fund offers professional investors the opportunity to enhance their exposure to renewable assets and the energy transition. The fund invests globally, with a focus on Europe, and commits to making investments with an environmental objective as described in Article 9 fund of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).

Enordic Evergreen is a 100% ACEEF-owned Nordic independent power producer, committed to accelerating the clean energy transition through long-term ownership, deep regional expertise, and strong local partnerships.

Ardian has been a pioneer in the energy transition, having started investing in renewable assets in 2007. Across all Infrastructure Funds at Ardian, the team manages more than 10 GW of clean energy capacity in Europe and the Americas.

Federico Gotti Tedeschi, Managing Director Infrastructure, Ardian, responded: “Ardian’s renewables strategy is built around a selective and disciplined investment approach where this portfolio is a clear fit. As electricity demand continues to grow, driven in particular by the rapid expansion of data centres, the Nordic energy market is entering a new phase. We are proud to play a leading role in supporting this transition by accelerating the development of new clean energy capacity through the ACEEF platform. We will leverage our established industrial strategy to deliver further growth, drawing on our OPTA tool and the expertise within our Enordic Evergreen team. This is an excellent strategic acquisition for ACEEF and Ardian’s wider renewable energy strategy.”

Timo Pohjakallio, CEO, Enordic Evergreen, added: “This investment brings three complementary and competitive wind parks to our portfolio and makes us a stronger player in our core operating area. We look forward to leveraging our fleet management toolkit and industrial expertise to integrate these assets into our fleet and develop them further. It is my pleasure here to sincerely thank the Enordic Evergreen team, the ACEEF investment team, including OPTA expertise, and our advisors for the hard work that has brought us to this stage.”
