On this month's cover: The tracked vehicle called Yamal Frostpadder is an innovation in the fi eld of backfi lling for outdoor use in mild to extremely cold climates with temperatures as low as -40 °C. The only machine of its kind, the Frostpadder was designed to operate at pipeline worksites in northern zones, where working conditions are extreme. This machine is the last product engineered and manufactured from Laurini Officine Meccaniche.

On this month's cover: Chart Energy & Chemicals successfully placed over 21 000 ft of vacuum insulated pipe (VIP) into LNG transfer service in the Darwin Australia LNG export facility in 2005. Chart has four additional facilities utilising over 34 000 ft of VIP for LNG transfer in Freeport TX (FLNG), Idku Egypt (ELNG), Atlantic LNG (ALNG) and Distrigas LNG.

On this month's cover: CRC-Evans Automatic Welding is a major supplier for a massive pipeline project in China. Selected by the China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP), CRC-Evans is providing automatic welding equipment and training for the 2nd West-East Pipeline as well as the Central Asia Pipeline – eventually encompassing more than 7000 km. Welding on the main line for the west section began in February 2008.
