The biggest transfer of community energy assets ever in the UK has been completed, with solar farms with a collective capacity of 36 MWp going into community ownership, increasing England and Wales’s community solar capacity by one-fifth.
A power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed between European Energy and Rio Tinto. The agreement ensures that all the energy from the upcoming solar farm Upper Calliope Solar Farm will be supplied to Rio Tinto.
