Fugro has been awarded a contract by Cadeler to provide post-installation seabed surveys for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the UK. The work will verify installation quality and provide critical geo-data to support the safe and efficient construction of the wind farm. Fugro is also providing positioning and construction services to Cadeler at the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm.
Cadeler plays a key role in helping bring new renewable energy capacity online. East Anglia TWO will have an installed capacity of 960 MW, enough to power the equivalent of around 950 000 homes, making installation quality and long-term foundation integrity critical to the project’s success. Fugro supports these efforts by delivering specialist survey, positioning, construction support, and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services that reduce risk, maintain installation quality, and provide the geo-data needed for reliable offshore construction.
Beginning in early 2027, Fugro will deploy its FCV® 600 work class ROV from Cadeler’s installation vessel to inspect 64 monopile foundation locations. The ROV will perform a range of surveys and installation-related activities to confirm that monopile foundations have been installed as planned and deliver the insights needed to support their long-term integrity.
At Hornsea 3, Fugro specialists onboard the installation vessel, Wind Ally, are providing positioning and construction services for the installation of 197 monopile foundations. Using Fugro’s InclinoCam® vision technology, the team provide continuous measurement of the tilt, inclination, and vertical alignment of the monopiles to help Cadeler achieve centimetre-level installation accuracy throughout the construction campaign.
Maxime Duthoit, Cadeler’s Senior Project Manager, noted: “We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Fugro, whose track record in the offshore industry and position as one of the market leaders in ROV and survey services provide confidence in the quality and reliability of the data required to support successful project delivery. Their expertise will play an important role in maintaining the high installation standards expected on East Anglia TWO.”
Stuart Hamilton, Fugro’s Positioning and Construction Support Director for Europe and Africa, added: “Cadeler is delivering some of Europe’s most significant offshore wind developments, and we’re proud to support these projects with a range of specialist offshore services. Our expertise covers the full lifecycle of offshore wind projects, from the early site investigations that inform project planning through to the survey, positioning, and inspection services needed during construction. Bringing these capabilities together helps our clients deliver projects safely and efficiently.”
