Global Wind Service (GWS) has completed the turbine installation at Baltic Power, Poland’s first offshore wind farm. The company has supported pre-assembly, offshore installation, and high-voltage (HV) works throughout the project.
All 76 Vestas V236-15 MW turbines have now been installed at the approximately 1.2 GW project, developed jointly by ORLEN and Northland Power. Following the delivery of first power to Poland’s national grid, Baltic Power is progressing through final commissioning towards commercial operation.
Jakob Dehlbaek, Offshore Divisional Director at Global Wind Service, responded: “The completion of turbine installation at Baltic Power is a significant milestone for Poland’s offshore wind industry and for everyone involved in the project. We are proud that our teams have contributed their expertise across pre-assembly, offshore installation, commissioning works, and HV works. This achievement reflects the strong co-operation between GWS, Vestas, Baltic Power, and all project partners.”
GWS’s contribution has brought together mechanical, electrical, and rope access expertise across the pre-assembly and offshore installation phases. The company’s in-house HV department has also supported the project through HV terminations, HV commissioning, and specialist HV Control Person functions. These activities have helped maintain electrical safety for personnel working on or near HV equipment.
The project builds on the longstanding collaboration between GWS and Vestas. The scale and technical requirements of the V236-15 MW turbine have required specialist knowledge, adaptability, and close co-ordination between the teams involved.
For GWS, contributing to Poland’s first offshore wind farm carries particular significance. Poland is an important part of the company’s operations, with a major office in Szczecin and an established local workforce supporting its international activities. Participation in Baltic Power further strengthens GWS’s experience in the Polish market and its position as a trusted partner for onshore and offshore wind projects.
As a service provider contributing to this project, GWS congratulates Baltic Power, Vestas, and all project partners on reaching this milestone and thanks them for their trust and co-operation.
The company also extends its appreciation to its technicians and project teams for dedication and teamwork they have brought to the installation campaign.
