The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Siemens Energy have signed a memorandum of co-operation (MOC) to strengthen their co-operation on floating offshore wind and wind power industry development.

Under the MOC, METI and Siemens Energy have agreed to co-operate on the realisation of floating offshore wind projects in Japan, as well as on supply chain development and human resource development aimed at strengthening the wind power industrial base.
