Siemens Gamesa secures Swedish order

Siemens Gamesa has secured their first order for their 170-m rotor wind turbine. The company will deliver eight units of the SG 5.8-170 to Eurowind Energy A/S for the Knöstad project in Sweden.

Ørsted and TEPCO to launch joint venture company

Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Incorporated (TEPCO) and Ørsted A/S (Ørsted) have agreed to establish a joint venture company, Choshi Offshore Wind Farm K.K., to work towards a joint bid in the Choshi-city offshore wind promotion area.

 
 

ABB wins system contract in Japan

The 28 000-GT jack-up ship – a purpose-built, self-elevating wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) delivered from a Japanese yard – will feature ABB's advanced power and control technologies. The vessel, on order from builder Japan Marine United Corp., is due delivery to Shimizu Corp. in 2022.
