Iceland Drilling Company and PDSI sign MoU

Iceland Drilling and Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking an important step in strengthening collaboration between the two companies in geothermal drilling services. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to exploring and developing new business opportunities, while combining the respective capabilities, expertise, and experience of both organisations.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Director General of International Law and Treaties from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ambassador of Iceland to Indonesia, highlighting the importance of international co-operation in supporting the energy transition and the sustainable development of geothermal resources.
Through this collaboration, PDSI and Iceland Drilling aim to support sustainable business growth, expand opportunities in Indonesia and international markets, and contribute to the advancement of geothermal well construction. By combining Indonesia’s world-class geothermal resource potential with Iceland’s decades of geothermal drilling experience, the partnership creates a strong platform for innovation, knowledge sharing, and the future development of next-generation geothermal technologies, including the potential of superhot rock (SHR) resources.
Indonesia and Iceland are uniquely positioned as global geothermal leaders. By working together, both companies can help unlock more renewable energy, strengthen energy security, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
