Australian energy technology company, Proa Energy, has officially launched NEXO.
Designed to support infrastructure, operations, and intelligence, NEXO brings Proa’s renewable energy solutions together within one flexible and integrated oper-ating environment.
Through its two components, hardware onsite (NEXO Site) and software (NEXO Cloud), NEXO is one operating system that connects plant data, forecasting, bidding, dispatch management, performance analytics, reporting and operational workflows to help renewable energy businesses simplify operations and improve asset performance.
Proa Founder and CEO, Victor Depoorter, said: “NEXO is not an additional layer sitting alongside our existing technology. It is the platform that brings our solutions together.
“NEXO represents a major step change. It connects plant data, market intelligence and team workflows within one operating environment. It aims at maximising the effectiveness and predictability of renewable assets, which translates into maximised revenue for stakeholders and owners.
“Our vision is to power the global transition to clean energy by improving performance, cost and reliability across every asset.”
Its modular architecture enables customers to select the capabilities relevant to their assets and add new modules as their operational requirements and portfolios evolve.
Built around flexibility, traceability and deep integration, NEXO’s human-centred design gives asset managers, traders, operational teams, and external providers a clearer and more consistent view of asset performance.
12 flagship renewable energy projects across Australia, including Potentia Energy’s Quorn Park hybrid project in New South Wales and four of Vena Energy’s assets in Queensland and South Australia, have already adopted or are currently onboarding to NEXO, representing more than 2 GW of contracted capacity.
In total, the projects include two hybrid projects, with the remaining projects spanning standalone large scale solar, wind, and battery assets.
Gabriele Mallarini, Chief Operations Officer at Potentia Energy, said: “Quorn Park represents an exciting new generation of renewable energy projects, and NEXO is a key part of bringing that ambition to life.
“What has impressed us most is Proa’s ability to listen, adapt and build a solution around our needs. NEXO is now part of how we operate the project every day, and we’re excited by its potential to help us unlock the full value of hybrid assets.”
