Enviromena, a UK-based independent power producer, has acquired the 27.5 MWp Parkgate Farm solar project near Braintree, Essex, from leading UK developer Innova Renewables.

The acquisition is expected to be the first of a number of transactions between the two companies, through which Enviromena expects to acquire 233 MWp of solar and 75 MW of co-located battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from Innova before the end of 2026.

Parkgate is fully consented and secured a Contract for Difference (CfD) in Allocation Round 6 (AR6) and is expected to be energised in summer 2028. Once energised, it will generate more than 28 000 MWh of clean electricity each year, enough to power the equivalent of over 10 000 homes annually.

The project will be Enviromena’s second large scale solar farm in Essex, following the construction of its flagship 71 MWp Medebridge solar farm near South Ockendon which has been operational since September 2025.

Chris Marsh, CEO at Enviromena, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Innova, with Parkgate marking the first milestone in a portfolio of projects that we plan to deliver together.

“This is a significant opportunity for both businesses, and we’re looking forward to progressing the wider portfolio through construction and into operation. We’ve established a strong relationship with the Innova team throughout this process, and we hope this will be the foundation of a successful, long-term relationship.”

Daniel Mushin, CFIO at Innova, said: “We are delighted to announce the sale of Parkgate to Enviromena. As the first project in a broader relationship between our organisations, this transaction continues Innova’s success on our renewable energy pipeline and our collaborative approach to project development.

“We look forward to working together on future opportunities and would like to thank our advisors PKF Corporate Finance, Burges Salmon, and OWC for their support on this transaction.”

Further acquisitions under the partnership are expected to complete in the coming weeks, adding to Enviromena’s growing portfolio of CfD-backed solar projects across the UK.
