Aventa has announced that Offshore Projects Alliance Ltd (OPA), an Aberdeen-based provider of offshore personnel and crewing for offshore wind and subsea cable projects, has joined the Aventa Group. OPA’s arrival strengthens Aventa’s offshore personnel offer at a time when experienced cable specialists are in short supply across the industry.
Founded in 2017, OPA Ltd supplies experienced people across the full subsea cable installation cycle, from route preparation, cable lay and burial to pull-in, HV, and fiberoptic termination, jointing, and testing, as well as personnel logistics and remedial works. Its hand-picked network covers offshore managers, shift supervisors, client representatives, shore-end works managers, tower team leads, HV and fibre-optic jointers, deck crew, equipment technicians, trenching and ploughing personnel, QHSE specialists, and project engineers.
“Improving our offer is a strategic priority for Aventa, and offshore personnel is a core part of what we offer our clients, mainly because cable projects succeed or fail on the quality of the people offshore,” said Antoine Bosc, CEO and Co-Founder of Aventa. “OPA Ltd brings a proven, hand-picked network of cable specialists and client representatives, and a strong base in Aberdeen. For our clients, that means more capacity, complete cable crews and experienced people on the ground in one of the world’s most important offshore wind regions.”
With OPA, Aventa will:
Expand its offshore personnel offer, adding OPA Ltd’s network of experienced professionals at a time when skilled people are a key constraint on project delivery.
Provide complete cable-installation profiles and crews, from offshore management and supervision to pull-in, jointing, termination, and testing.
Offer experienced client representatives to developers, transmission system operators, cable manufacturers, and installation contractors.
Strengthen its presence in Scotland and the wider UK, where the Scottish government is targeting up to 40 GW of new offshore wind capacity by 2040, and where a record 11.5 GW is currently under construction across the UK.
OPA joins the group shortly after Irish Sea Contractors, whose arrival was announced on 13 October 2026, and further broadens the range of services Aventa offers its clients across the offshore project lifecycle.
Aurélien Zuccarini, Chief Growth & Talent Officer and Co-Founder of Aventa, said: “Finding, developing, and keeping the right people is one of the biggest challenges in offshore today. OPA Ltd has built its reputation on trusted, long-term relationships with its crews, which is exactly how we approach talent at Aventa. Together, we can offer offshore professionals more opportunities across our projects, and give our clients the continuity of working with people they know and trust.”
OPA Ltd will continue to operate under its established name from Aberdeen, and a new office will open in Glasgow. Becki McLeod, OPA Ltd’s Crewing Director, will join the Aventa team as Offshore Project Resources & Support Manager, to help develop the group’s offshore personnel activities.
“We built OPA Ltd on hands-on experience and trusted relationships, and we look after our crews as carefully as our clients,” added McLeod. “Joining Aventa gives our people access to more projects and to the support of a wider engineering and operational group, while keeping the personal approach our clients and contractors know us for.”
