OX2 hands over first completed wind farm in Romania

The wind farm is now fully operational and supplying renewable electricity to the grid.

Located mainly in the municipality of Cuca in Galati County, Green Breeze consists of 16 Vestas V162-6.2 MW turbines.

The handover represents an important milestone for OX2, as Green Breeze is the company’s first project in Romania to reach commercial operation. It also comes as OX2 marks five years of operations in the country.

Lacramioara Diaconu-Pin?ea, Country Manager, OX2 Romania, commented: “Green Breeze is a significant achievement for OX2 in Romania and a strong example of our integrated model, taking a renewable energy project from development through construction and to completion and handover. I am particularly proud of the OX2 team and our partners who have made this possible. Green Breeze is a strong foundation for what comes next as we continue to develop our growing Romanian pipeline.”

OX2 has three wind projects in Romania, totalling around 300 MW, that are currently under construction or expected to enter construction shortly. An additional 1.2 GW of onshore wind, battery energy storage systems, and solar projects are at various stages of development.
