Cleantech Solar and Ambu Sdn. Bhd. have entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) to benefit from a 923 kWp solar photo voltaic (PV) system that will be installed across Ambu's manufacturing and research and development buildings in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia.

The PV system will be installed by Solarvest Holdings Berhad and is expected to be fully operational by mid-2020. The solar PV system is expected to generate over 23 700 MWh of clean energy, avoiding 16 400 t of CO2 emissions across the agreement's terms. Through this arrangement, Ambu will benefit from savings in electricity costs and also see an improvement in its environmental performance as the company lowers its dependency on non-renewal energy, without having to invest its own capital.
